About Barrett Environmental
Barrett studios has been developing polymer-based products since the 1970s. Our vast expertise spans many industries including fine sculpture, architectural and retail fixturing.
Our first environmentally motivated project was in 1987 during the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. The aged and damaged scrap metal was removed pulverized and shipped to Barrett’s facility. We formulated a process using this scrap metal and our polymers to reproduce miniature Statues of Liberty to raise funds internationally for the Ellis Island.
Foundation
Barrett continues to be a leader in combining complex polymer formulations with a wide variety of recycled content. Following a natural progression we decided to expand our proven technology of melding polymers and pre recycled content to expand our commitment to environmental responsibility.
From this commitment came the creation of solid surfacing solution for a greener tomorrow, known as envirocore®, which is manufactured with up to 90% pre-recycled consumer waste.
envirocore® can be used as a quality solid surfacing alternative for items such as countertops, moldings, and floorings and can be made to resemble the look and feel of any material, including wood, metal and stone. Made through a patented new fusion base process, envirocore® is a non-porous surfacing material that is exceptionally durable, heat and scratch-resistant, and easy to clean.
This revolutionary new green alternative enables commercial architects and interior designers to cater to the new environmentally conscious marketplace without sacrificing quality, artistry or design.
